October 23 TransContainer Freight Forwarding (Shanghai) Co., LTD. opened a branch in Qingdao, Shandong Province, People's Republic of China. Along with existing offices in the cities of Shanghai and Shenzhen, the new branch will sell TransContainer Group services, fulfill customer orders for transportation in communication with China through land and sea border crossings, as well as monitor the equipment of PJSC TransContainer in neighboring regions and interact with local carriers.



The main efforts of the new office will be focused on working with clients and partners who operate in the northern provinces of China: Shandong, Shanxi, Hebei, Tianjin, Liaoning, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and others.





These regions generate 18% of trade between China, Russia and European countries. In the north of China, electronics manufacturing is concentrated; equipment used in mechanical engineering, pharmacology, chemical and other industries; automotive industry, as well as building materials exported to Russia, the CIS and the European Union.





Currently, TransContainer is transporting goods from Shandong province as part of container trains to destinations in Poland, Germany, Hungary and the Czech Republic, including through the Kaliningrad region. At the same time, the northern provinces are actively increasing imports of lumber and food products (oil, flour, soybeans) from the Russian Federation, which should guarantee a stable loading of containers on the way back to China.
